Today is September 15, 2025. Around us are events that many of us believe are not just news—they are signs. Signs that Scripture speaks about. As believers, we’re called to watch, pray, and keep our hearts ready. Let’s examine some of what’s happening, how it aligns with biblical prophecy, and what it means for you and me.

Just days ago (on the 7th), an eclipse occurred—a celestial event that reminds many Christians of the prophecy in Joel 2:30-31 (KJV): “And I will show wonders in the heavens and in the earth, blood, and fire, and pillars of smoke.” The moon turning to “blood” (or appearing red) is one of the signs Scripture links with the approaching “great and terrible day of the LORD.” CBN+1 -

The red heifer is a rare animal required in Jewish Law (Numbers 19) for ritual purification. Geopolitical Tensions Around Israel / Palestine / Qatar:
Israel’s ongoing conflict in Gaza; tensions with Qatar; shifting alliances; talk of some Arab nations possibly aligning (directly or indirectly) with powers like Russia or China. Some rumors even suggest that Qatar might reconsider its security relationship with the U.S. amid these pressures. While not all of these claims are verified, many see in these moves the stirring of alignments that prophecy mentions when it speaks of wars, rumors of war, alliances shifting. -
Recognition of Jerusalem & Temple Mount Movements:
Jerusalem has long been central in prophecy. Moves by nations to recognize or deny claims, or to support one side over another in relation to Jerusalem, always draw interest from those who study end times. Alongside this, the Temple Institute and related organizations have been preparing in small ways—bringing in red heifers, wanting to perform purification rites, preparing for Temple rites. Emerging Trends in Spiritual & Cultural Awareness
Beyond the geopolitical and prophetic signs, there is also a growing cultural conversation about the end times. Naomi Klein, a Vancouver-based writer, recently described what she calls “End Times Fascism”—the idea that many elites and power-brokers are already preparing for collapse and chaos, talking openly about apocalypse scenarios. Some political and evangelical leaders even frame these expectations through the lens of rapture and judgment. Their discussions remind us that the world itself senses something is coming.
For believers, this is not a time to be silent. God has placed powerful tools in our hands. With just a smartphone, we are connected to the entire world. That device can be used to advance the gospel, encourage others, and prepare hearts for Christ’s return—or it can be wasted on unwholesome practices like gossip, compromise, or even cybercrime. The choice is ours.
We are also reminded by current events of the cost of speaking truth in public spaces. On September 10, 2025, conservative activist Charlie Kirk was tragically assassinated on stage during a campus event. While his political positions were often debated, his willingness to speak out publicly, including about his faith, cost him his life. It is a sobering reminder that being visible for what you believe may come with opposition—but also that time is short, and the urgency to share Christ is greater than ever.

Joel 2:30-31 (KJV) — “And I will shew wonders in the heavens and in the earth, blood, and fire, and pillars of smoke. The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and terrible day of the LORD come.”

What Does This Mean?

These events may be pieces in the prophetic puzzle. They do not necessarily mean the end is today, but they warn that we are nearer than we often think. Jesus Himself said no one knows the day or hour (Matthew 24:36), yet He also urged watchfulness.

The signs strengthen our faith, reminding us that Scripture is alive, that God’s promises and warnings are trustworthy.

For those not yet walking with Christ, these signs should provoke reflection: life is short; eternity is certain.
